BENTWOOD SYSTEMS (2017)
Structures made from steam bent 1/8" thick red oak boards in collaboration with three other Rensselaer students. The boards, after bending, were placed under an ABB robot arm and individually milled to create a "breathing" pattern surrounding an observer. The goal was to create a space small enough to make two observers feel uncomfortable inside, forcing them to look up and experience the entire structure. The piece was exhibited in the Greene Building during the fall of 2017.
