1592 SAINT LAURENT LABORATORY, MONTREAL (2017)

A proposed botanical research laboratory on a plot of land in Montreal, QC. The structure explores the idea that wandering through spaces promotes discovery and clear thinking. Multiple paths connect the three structures, allowing for differing experiences and scenery while moving through each space. The buildings themselves represent the ideals of past, present, and future. The west wing (past) contains an archival research library and a seed bank for genetic storage. The central building (present) contains an auditorium, exhibition space and lab/office space. The east wing (future) contains lecture halls, classrooms and meeting rooms. The goal is to expose students and the general public to the scientific field while giving ample privacy to researchers and workers.
